Zeynep Sarılar, received her BSc Electrical and Electronics Engineering degree and worked as software engineer in 3 continents, Northern Telecom - Istanbul, Alcatel Bell – Belgium, Qualcomm – San Diego between 1990 and 1998. Then she worked for financial companies in Istanbul as a project leader and management role between 1998 and 2001.
In 2001, Zeynep became as an entrepreneur, where she managed Service and Product Development for a set of innovative products not only for Turkey for CIS and MENA region. Meanwhile, she supervised more than 20 European research projects on wearables, embedded systems, digital home systems and entertainment solutions for the automotive and health industry till the end of 2012.
In 2013, she initiated an Entrepreneur Training Center and Innovation Center and she also coordinated a Growth Accelerator Programme for 17 SMEs.
As of 1 February 2016, Zeynep Sarılar is Chairwoman of ITEA that is a transnational and industry-driven Research, Development and Innovation (R&D&I) programme in the domain of software innovation. ITEA is a Cluster programme of EUREKA, an intergovernmental network for R&D&I cooperation, involving over 40 countries globally. ITEA is the home of software innovation, enabling an international and knowledgeable community to collaborate in funded projects that turn innovative ideas into new businesses, jobs, economic growth and benefits for society.
